Full Vinyasa Primary Series with Druminyasa

  • ASHTANGA YOGA COLUMBUS 4684 INDIANOLA AVENUE COLUMBUS United States (map)

Ashtanga Primary Series is most commonly practiced in the "Half Vinyasa" form, meaning that between seated poses, students flow through to Downward Dog and then back to seated. In “Full Vinyasa” Form, students flow through all the way to standing (Samastitih) between poses and then back to seated again for the next pose. The result is energetically quite different, stimulating and relaxing at the same time.

For this special Led Full Vinyasa Primary event, allow the live drumming by Brad Ellsworth of Druminyasa® to carry you through your practice. As featured by The Washington Times, CBS, and Washington’s WTOP news, Brad Ellsworth has been playing drums and percussion for over 25 years. Brad is an ashtanga practitioner and teacher at Richmond City Yoga and provides live drumming for yoga classes at studios and festivals, including Wanderlust and Asheville Yoga Festival. In August 2017, Brad had the honor of drumming for Eddie Stern of Ashtanga Yoga New York for their Ganesh Chaturthi Festival.

"Everyone moves together, building a collective energy that is very strong and powerful, felt deep within the heart and quieting the mind, helping sync movement with breath and having their energy, energy of those around them and energy of the drumming move them through their meditative practice." - Nicole Boyle (Studio owner, In Balance Yoga, Blacksburg)
